well the UN team sent to rescue the Ice Station had to piggy back a lift on a tourest charter plane as that was the only plane ready to fly this early and that far south. a smal number of tourests were on board when the plane took off.

only something went wrong and she went down just short of the Ice station, the crash impact knocks everyone out, you all come too a few hundred yards from the base. only the PC's survived the crash.

you can be any type of PC in the book.

Soilder, stripper, survivalist or scientist to name but few.
