Joking aside, it's quite handy for keeping track of your pals and there's a decent chat tool in there. I try to avoid the temptation of posting things like "i'm watching the telly", or "i'm feeling tired". You can be signed up to it but you don't have to use it all the time and you'll get emails if someone sends you a message.
