Anyone here seen Prometheus?
I've not seen it yet and will probably wait for the blu ray. Anyone seen it and care to share their thoughts?

I saw it tonight on the IMAX and really enjoyed it. Visually it was very impressive on a grandiose scale with that familiar HR Giger-imagery, and I would definitely recommend seeing it on an IMAX screen for a fully immersive experience. Although a prequel to the Alien-series it is important to note that the narrative isnt directly connected to that franchise in the way that say Star Wars Episode 3 is connected directly to Star Wars episode 4. This is a completely separate storyline that will tip its hat on occasion to 'Alien' but is a separate story in its own right that just happens to be set in the same Universe, with those familiar elements like Weyland Industries, an Android, and those stasis-pods for long-distance space travel. If I had one minor gripe it would be that the characters were not all fleshed out as fully as they could be, (and several appear to be of the 'Red-Shirt' variety that are just there to be introduced and get killed) but that is certainly compensated by the superb Michael Fassbinder who steals every scene he's in. The horror element is suitably gross as you would expect, and the film builds its tension well throughout with some spectacular sfx and scary moments. Overall I would give this 8/10.

I have just watched this. it was very goo for the most part, however it seemed rushed at times. esecially the Weyland/Engineer segment.
So LV-221 was the weapons facility was and LV-426 is where an Engineer ship crashed with second generation Bio-Weapons on board.
But the early scene with the Engineer killing himself to spark life on earth goes against the Sumarian Creation beliefs. as they state we were created to as slaves. but i am splitting hairs.
id give it a 6/10 as whilst it was good it was nothing new, an updated retelling of Alien with a little more back story

I'm still not that interested. Will probably wait and catch it on Channel 4. Thanks for posting your comment, though
