Much to like here, with Rory's dad standing out for me. I liked the premise of the story and how ruthless Solomon was. Liked the idea and implementation of the wave engines, and the new companions, although they didn't have a lot to do. But god save me from flippin' comedy robots. I'm not a massive fan of Mitchell and Webb at the best of times, but they were a bad misstep here. On that basis 7/10 with last week's episode being a 9/10.

This episode was a really fun romp, containing a crazy cocktail of ideas and characters like Queen Nefertiti, an Edwardian big game hunter, Rory's Dad, plus a space pirate and his two bickering robots - all set onboard a spaceship heading towards earth (powered by an engine room resembling a beach) stacked full with Dinosaurs! Despite all these disperate elements, i was pleasently surprised to see how well it all gelled together and was tremendous fun to watch. The SFX for the dinosaurs were really great (especially after their previous infamous attempt in 1974's Invasion of the Dinosaurs) and thankfully they were used well too especially that sequence riding the triceratops. Soloman was a really nasty piece of work and it was interesting to see how that brought out the Doctor's ruthless side at the end (perhaps a sign that the Doctor may need a full time companion soon to reign him in at times). I really loved Mark Williams as Rory's dad who incidentally will be back again in episode 4.

Overall I would give this episode 8/10 with Asylum of the Daleks 9/10.
