Odd title, I know Very Happy

As you know the notion of a WW2 supers game has been floating around for the last year or more and in the process I have managed to drift between no less than 4 seperate systems (GH/SQUK, MSH, BASH and Icons).
Thanks to the excellent Icons line I have some neat WW2 adventures lined up. I have writeups for the characters you all picked (Tommy Awesome, Jet Commando, White Knight and Ironclad) in some if not all of the above systems. I was all set to run the flipping thing in Icons but have been thinking that it might actually be more useful to use Golden Heroes as Kevin is going to need some playtesting done in this very system before too long. I propose 1 session (for now) using the above characters which I will manfully convert into GH for you. I promise on St George that I will not try to use another superhero system until this one game has been run, at least once. This has the benefit of refamiliarising us with the GH system and is "self-contained" enough that we can move on to Icons on whatever later. I like Icons a lot but Golden Heroes will always be my first love. Can I ask whether those of you involved (Russ, Kevin, Mike and Chris) let me know if you still want a bit of Nazi bashing action and if you are happy to use good ole' GH???

Ironclad reporting for duty Sah!

I am currently bias towards GH. A WWII campaign will help If/when i get to Finest Hour (fingers Crossed)

I thought about running Finest Hour but it's designed to be run as a campaign and I don't want to get into that quite yet. We'll start with a short game and see how it goes.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
Or close the wall up with our English dead.
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility:
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage;
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
Let pry through the portage of the head
Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it
As fearfully as doth a galled rock
O'erhang and jutty his confounded base,
Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean.
Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide,
Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
To his full height. On, on, you noblest English.
Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof!
Fathers that, like so many Alexanders,
Have in these parts from morn till even fought
And sheathed their swords for lack of argument:
Dishonour not your mothers; now attest
That those whom you call'd fathers did beget you.
Be copy now to men of grosser blood,
And teach them how to war. And you, good yeoman,
Whose limbs were made in England, show us here
The mettle of your pasture; let us swear
That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not;
For there is none of you so mean and base,
That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

Its time to kick some Nazi ass

BACKGROUND:-
When young Tommy Thompson befriended eccentric Cambridge professor Bernard Nightingale during his summer holidays he had no idea it would change his life forever. A keen student, Tommy was soon assisting the Professor in his experiments into a secret new form of exotic energy dubbed ‘Energy-A’. The Professor firmly believed it would be the key to winning the war. However German spies learned of his experiments. So, with a U-boat waiting off-shore under cover of darkness and a fierce summer storm, agents of the Fuhrer stealthly approached the Professors cottage with the aim of taking him and his discovery back to the Fatherland.

Meanwhile in the Professor's basement lab Tommy and Professor Nightingale were in the midst of a critical experiment, an experiment that was reacing it's highly dangerous peak! It was in this terribel moment that the Nazi thugs made their move. Refusing to surrender either himself or his discovery to the enemy, a struggle ensued and a stray shot damaged the equipment. As lighting struck the house there was a huge explosion, then blackness and silence...

When Tommy woke up he discovered the lab was destroyed and he was alone in the ruin of the cottage. However the cataclysmic events of that night had somehow granted him amazing power; the power of Energy-A! Now Tommy Thompson is that latest weapon in the Allies arsenal against the Axis, fighting tyranny and the Nazi jackboot as TOMMY AWESOME!
