Ebay Alternatives? Empty Ebay Alternatives?

Post by agentofping 17th August 2009, 00:58

Anyone know of some good alternatives to ebay? There's lots out there but just wondered if anyone had any suggestions/recommendations.

eBid looks promising, any others?

I'm bascially asking because ebay have instigated a policy where for certain categories (including books and computer games) you HAVE to list them as free postage. Really stupid. ebid certainly seems like a good alternative as they have a free listing charge and a 3% final charge (compared with ebay's 10%). I will wait until my current ebay autions finish and give it a try.

Yeah, i'll do the same. Ebay are making it not worth putting stuff on there. I want to make money for me, not for them.

There are some nice features on ebid. One is that you can start an auction to run from the time of the first bid. They also accept various payment methods like Google Checkout which I'm not sure ebay does. But looking at it Google are no cheaper than Paypal in regards to charges. The downside is that it costs 5p to have a thumbnail for you listing (although a picture is free) and obviously there aren't the user numbers. We will have to see.
